Wi-Fi and Bluetooth components for 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.

Due to the constantly growing popularity of devices equipped with wireless communication modules, constructors more and more often look for miniature antennas designed for Wi-Fi and Blueooth, i.e. operating at 2.4GHz and 5GHz (the most popular ISM radio wave bands, i.e. industrial, scientific, medical). In the TME catalogue, you can find a number of solutions intended for such applications – including products by Walsin Technology Corporation.

Wi-Fi dipole antennas

Walsin antennas are indoor and outdoor radiators designed for such wireless networks as WLAN, Bluetooth, ZigBee, etc. They are available in SMD variants and as dipoles. The former will prove useful in compact circuits, e.g. mobile, battery-powered devices using BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) technology. They are made as multilayer ceramic components or embedded in epoxy resin. Advantages of the former type include low sensitivity to thermal factors, whereas the other type is distinguished by the possibility to mount the antenna in the immediate vicinity of other components.

Dipole antennas are used  in applications requiring a greater range (gain up to 5dBi) and built-in equipment (e.g. in a metal switchgear), as external radiators. They are designed to be mounted in 9mm holes and the electrical connection is made using the factory-fitted coaxial cable (it can be soldered directly to the circuit or terminated with the desired plug).
