University of Utah engineers have recently discovered a 2D semiconducting material that is faster than other devices and will be consuming very less power to the commercial ones. Researchers have been studying the field and has discovered this device of semiconductor over 2D materials such as graphene and molybdenum sidulphide to allow the free movement of the electronic devices that you would require . They have created an electronic device so as to make the movement of the electrons ad the holes simultaneous and the team claims that it will be the first ever stable semiconductor.
Tiwari says devices made with SnO could lead to computers and smartphones that are more than 100 times faster than regular devices whilst generating less heat and consuming less power.
