Techmezine: Could you explain RECOM ?

Techmezine : What are the current technologies evolving in the Isolated DC/DC Converters ?
The Power supply industry is moving towards designing converters in smaller and smaller sizes and with higher power density. So higher efficiency and thermal management will become more and more critical, resulting in more challenges to the design since this will be in contradiction to EMC requirement.
Techmezine : Please introduce R0.5ZX Series and R1ZX series + specs and its application focus ?
The R0.5ZX and R1ZX are based on the 2kVDC isolated low-profile R1SX SMD series but include an internal linear regulator to give a precise, load independent and low noise output. The already low output ripple and noise can be reduced to 2mVp-p with a simple external filter circuit. The output is also continuously short circuit protected. In the event of a continuous overload or over-temperature condition, the output will shut down thus protecting the converter and the application from overcurrent damage. The output will automatically restart once the fault condition has been lifted. These DC/DC converters operate over an extended industrial temperature range from -40°C up to +100°C and are IEC/EN/UL 62368-1 certified with CB report. Typical applications include isolated 5V supplies for sensor, bus-interface and precision test and measurement circuits.
Techmezine : Please introduce R1DX Series + spec and its application focus ?
Following the success of our R1SX 1W DC/DC converters, we have decided to extend our portfolio with the R1DX series to cover dual output voltage applications. The R1DX series is ideal for EIA/TIA-232 bus isolation and a wide range of industrial automation control equipment, sensors, isolated operational amplifiers and test & measurement equipment that require bipolar supply voltages.
The R1DX series are high-quality open-frame SMD converters, which deliver stable performance on symmetric dual outputs at a very competitive price. They operate from 5V and offer ±5, ±9, ±12 or ±15 dual outputs. There is no minimum load required, and the quiescent consumption is less than 150mW. The pin-out is industry standard and compatible with the R1S/R1D series. It has high isolation of up to 3kVDC (/H option) and thus make them an ideal solution for isolating data transfer lines in legacy communication protocols (e.g. RS-232) and for isolated DAC and sensor applications. The modules operate at a wide temperature range from -40°C to +95°C without derating and can drive up to ±1000µF capacitive loads, which is multiple times higher than the competition. The series is fully certified to IEC/UL/EN62368-1 and UL60950-1 and is 10/10 RoHS-conform. Class A EMC conformity requires only an input capacitor and a simple low cost LC filter is all that is needed for Class B EMC.
Techmezine : Please introduce R2SX Series + spec and its application focus ?
The R2SX series of compact 2W are suited for bus isolation and a wide range of industrial automation control equipment. Their low profile and compact footprint saves space in PCB design.
The R2SX is an open-frame 2W SMD isolated DC/DC converter with either 3kVDC/1 minute isolation (/H version) or 1kVDC/1 minute isolation options. The modules are available with 5V or 24V inputs, offer a single unregulated 3.3V, 5V, 15V, or 24V output and can reach up to 86% efficiency. There is no minimum load requirement and the efficiency stays high over a wide 20% to 100% load range. The operating temperature is from -40°C up to +75°C at full load, and up to +100°C with derating. The converters are fully certified to IEC/EN/UL62368-1 and are 10/10 RoHS-conform. A simple low cost LC filter is all that is needed for Class B EMC compliance.
