Mercedes Benz has decided to invest rs. 2,000 crore in upgrading its Chakan factory in Pune. This will be an endorsement to ease the government business. Maharashtra Government has already received an supplication from benz which prompted to upgrade its manufacturing sector in Maharashtra city Pune, by manufacturing cars from 40,000 to 80,000 car units per year. Apurva Chandra company Secretary stated that” Increasing units and manufacturing will also increase employment that will further help in state economy.”
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has met Folger, who is the managing director and CEO of Mercedes in India and said that the state will help them in speeding up their dream. Earlier this year the company faced environment clearance problem which was sorted now and thus company is willing to invest in the state as soon as possible.
