Maruti’s Indian line up is soon going to add a compact SUV tailor made for Indian markets, as per it’s annual report. Sources reveal that Maruti started developing its sub-four metre compact SUV last year. It is expected to offer rivalry to other players in market like EcoSport, and the upcoming Mahindra TUV300.
The testing of this SUV has already begun on Indian roads. The likelihood of it borrowing styling cues from the XA-Alpha compact SUV shown earlier and the new Suzuki Vitara SUV sold overseas is quite high. Similar to Maruti’s other launches in the range such as the Maruti Ciaz and the Maruti S-Cross it is expected to offer additional equipment with its sale.
The features of the SUV include- a 1.3-litre diesel motor and safety features such as ABS and airbags are also expected in the new model.
