Global distributor Mouser Electronics Inc. today announced that it is exhibiting at this weekend’s World Maker Faire New York at the New York Hall of Science in Queens as a Coppersmith Sponsor. Joining Mouser will be longtime customer and celebrity engineer Grant Imahara, who will showcase the exciting Empowering Innovation Together™ program.
Imahara will be a featured speaker on the Center Stage at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 1, followed by an appearance at the Mouser booth on Saturday afternoon to sign autographs for attendees. Additionally, Mouser will highlight the newest technologies from its 600-plus manufacturer partners at the booth, located in the Electronics tent in Zone 3.
“Mouser is proud to support the Maker community of innovators and help build future generations of engineers,” says Kevin Hess, Mouser Senior Vice President of Marketing. “It’s very exciting to see a growing movement that is capturing the attention of so many creative thinkers while at the same time fostering the importance of STEM education among today’s students.”
Also at the booth, Mouser will be wowing attendees with a creative, interactive LED puzzle game, as well as a live demo of the Seeed Studio Grove Indoor Environment Kit. Makers can post a selfie to any social media with the tag #EmpoweringEngineers to receive a free Mouser PCB ruler (while supplies last), and register for some great prizes. Maker Faire and the Mouser booth are open Saturday, October 1, and Sunday, October 2, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.
Maker Media produces over 150 Maker Faires throughout the world each year, but the World Maker Faire in New York is among the largest. The flagship event is a wonderful opportunity for all ages to create, invent, learn, think and be inspired by the creative, engineering-related impulse to make and re-make the everyday objects that shape our future. Attendees can meet talented makers and learn about the interesting technologies they use, and then join hands-on activities to make their own creations.
Mouser and Imahara have received much attention throughout 2016 for multiple innovative projects that call on engineers and makers across the globe through Mouser’s dynamic Empowering Innovation Together educational program. From re-creating Iron Man’s gauntlet to challenging engineers and students to design a 3D-printable object for astronauts to use aboard the International Space Station, Mouser is helping to inspire innovation and creativity.
