As the announced was made last year  Avnet Memec and Silica have officially formed one company, Avnet Silica.The recently joined business unit will be the European semiconductor specialist division for Avnet, supplying 15,000 customers.

Mario Orlandi, pictured, now president of Avnet Silica and former president of Silica, said it wishes to provide a smart connection between its customers and suppliers. “Avnet Silica aims to simplify complexity and to provide creative solutions, technologies and logistics. By moving to the Avnet Silica brand, we feel that it better reflect our position in the business  distributor of innovative solutions.”
