ipoque continues advancing in the network visibility space with breakthrough solutions for application and subscriber awareness

ipoque, a Rohde & Schwarz company and leading provider of next-gen deep packet inspection (DPI) software, will be showcasing its suite of OEM network analytics solutions for networking and cybersecurity vendors at the upcoming Cisco Live 2023 in Las Vegas. The event takes place at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center from June 4 to June 8, 2023. On this occasion, Cisco customers and partners will come together for an educational and community experience that focuses on the latest findings in network technology.

Key highlights of ipoque at the event will include the showcase of its next-gen DPI product series comprising R&S®PACE 2, and its VPP-based cloud-native counterpart, R&S®vPACE. R&S®PACE 2 and R&S®vPACE employ a wide range of IP traffic classification methods that include port-based matching, pattern matching, behavioral analysis and statistical/heuristic analysis. This allows real-time identification of thousands of protocols, applications and services.

Used widely in networking and cybersecurity solutions such as firewalls, network probes, SASE and/or SSE suites of solutions including CASB and SWG, DPI technology from ipoque saw a number of major enhancements in the past year. This includes the introduction of encrypted traffic intelligence (ETI), which addresses the latest encryption protocols such as TLS 1.3/TLS 1.3 0-RTT and DNS over TLS/DNS over HTTPS (DoX). ETI from ipoque uses machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL) algorithms to deliver highly accurate, reliable insights in encrypted, anonymized and obfuscated traffic. Another enhancement is first packet classification, which is used to identify traffic flows from the very first incoming packet. That’s how traffic policies can take effect right from the first packet and across all following packets for application-wide consistency. The DPI technology also features a custom service classifier (CSC) that supports custom signatures based on attributes of IPv4, Ipv6, HTTP, SNI, UAID, DNS and HTTP2. It comes with a predefined list that provides immediate visibility into thousands of web services. This enables customers to focus on applications that are more obscure and hard to detect. CSC is especially critical in addressing newly identified threats and in enabling enterprise application allow lists.

In addition to its string of innovations, ipoque also started to release its long-term support (LTS) plug-in this year, conceived for high-availability systems and mass deployments. In combination with the dynamic upgrade feature, which allows signature upgrades and additions during runtime, LTS circumvents the need for any recompiling or reboot. Prior to that, ipoque unveiled the R&S®PACE 2 flow data exporter plug-in. It translates DPI information logs into IPFIX-encoded messages and exports them to third-party collectors. The plug-in thereby ensures adaptability and interworking between DPI and IPFIX reporting environments.

Another key solution from ipoque which will be showcased at the event is the GTP correlation module R&S®GSRM for mobile subscriber awareness in 3G, 4G and 5G networks. By embedding R&S®GSRM, networking solution providers can correlate control plane and user plane traffic within the core of mobile networks. By doing so, they can filter, forward and load balance subscriber-specific GTP sessions to and across appropriate subsystems to optimize network performance, service quality and user experience. The OEM module is the only GTP correlation software on the market that can be integrated directly into end solutions without a vendor lock-in.

Several customers of ipoque will also be exhibiting at Cisco Live in Las Vegas, showcasing the power of network intelligence for network connectivity and security. Among these are APCON and Profitap, who welcome visitors at their respective booths at the event.

APCON, a provider of network visibility and security services for data centers, selected the DPI engine R&S®PACE 2 from ipoque for its IntellaView HyperEngine hardware platform. “As a pioneer in the DPI space, partnering with ipoque is a major step in helping data centers proactively address security threats, improve network efficiencies and eliminate processing bottlenecks – paving the way for highly secure, optimized and responsive networks,” said the Senior Engineering team at APCON.

Geoffrey Kempenich, CEO at Profitap said, “By partnering with ipoque, we can ensure that our solution meets the needs of our customers in computing-intensive environments. The technology partnership not only helped us to focus on our core business and accelerate time to market, but also to significantly increase our value proposition in the marketplace as the partner of choice to deliver robust and reliable networks.”

OEM solutions from ipoque are easy to integrate and come with flexible SLAs, enabling networking and cybersecurity providers to keep up with the rapid growth of IP traffic, save development costs and accelerate time-to-market.

Visitors to Cisco Live 2023 can catch up with the latest offerings from ipoque at booth 10405.
