It was recently announced by NASA, that on Nov 1st , it is going to launch a UHD( Ultra High Definition), or 4K channel on US TV that would be running the content @60 frames per second.
It has also talked with the channels to pay them for the running NASA’s channel. It would be broadcasting TV pictures taken from the international space station, pictures of launches, pictures from deep space probes and historical pictures. The content will also be shown on internet but for the same the user should acquire a minimum of 13 Mbps speed.
Robert Jacobs, deputy associate administrator for NASA’s Office of Communications spoke to media that “Partnering with Harmonic gives NASA an outlet for its UHD content, which has four times the resolution of HD and is the next iteration of digital television,”
