The Government has been asking the local unit of the German Car auto maker Volkswagen as to explain the difference between significant variations in emission levels on road and simulated trials by the official agency tested. The ARAI that is Automotive Research Association of India has recently seen a marking increase in the emissions due to the on road testing of cars done by EA189 family diesel engines, Vehicles included in the above segments  were Polo,  Vento , Jetta and Audi A4. The big three cars have shown a larger emission as compared to the polo hatchbacks.

Ambuj Sharma who is the additional secretary of Heavy Industries Ministry has told ” Different vehicles posses different emission rates , but is is good to call for an explanation. The notice has been issued and two to three weeks have been given to respond to the above mandate.”

Volkswagen has been facing a lot of problems in many countries since the West Virginia University have seen a cheat software with the company to manipulate the emission ratings in the cars . Accordingly a notice was issued by the government to tackle the response as to why it was done with the software at local grounds.  As per the record Volkswagen Polo, Vento and Jetta makes almost 100 percent of India contribution to the company.
