RS Components has now made Flexible lights components available. it is a Mentor’s Flexible light guide system that consists of a supporting mounting and light guides that will be ordered separately and is not included in the package. This could make customized solutions that will create light pipes as per requirements. This mounting will be supporting and have a black holder that are basically pushed in to the PCB by two pins. They are generally designed to be used for 2.2 mm diameter pipes and SMD LED’s. 

Some of the features of the light Guide systems are stated below:

Holder and light pipes ordered individually along with Holder material: PC black UL94 and Light pipe material: PMMA
that supports Ambient temperature: -40°C to +85°C. These guide systems are designed to transmit light from a PCB to LED to make interface. Main point being that this transfer is completed without or a very little loss of luminescence and no light between adjacent elements also.  The flexible lights LED’s are push in materials into a plaiting holders that will be mounted over the pCB’s , they also have a round head shape .
